Audrey Taylor, DDS

Audrey M. Taylor, DDS began her career in dentistry working as a chair side dental assistant. She then attended Johnson County Community College and received her degree in Dental Hygiene. After working for seven years as a hygienist, her love of dentistry landed her in dental school. Dr. Taylor graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1992. Immediately following, she did a one-year General practice Residency at the Topeka Veterans Administration Medical Center. Next, came a two-year Combined Prosthodontics Residency at the Kansas city VAMC. After completing her training, Dr. Taylor and her husband, David, moved to Detroit, Michigan. While there, Dr. Taylor was the staff prosthodontist at the Detroit VAMC. She served as co-chairman of the General Practice Residency program. Dr. Taylor was part of the surgical/oncology team helping patients with head and neck cancer reconstruction. She taught undergraduate prosthodontics part-time at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Dentistry. The Taylors moved back to their home state of Kansas after they started their family. Dr. Taylor has been practicing general dentistry/prosthodontics privately in Topeka ever since. Dr. Taylor was an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists from 1993 until 2001, and a member of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental Advisory Committee in 2000 and 2001. She is an active member of the Heartland Dental Study Club and her church. She is known for her great compassion and extremely gentle touch, as well as her outstanding dentistry. In her spare time, Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time with David and their three children.
Bobbi Schaeffer, Dental Assistant

Bobbi began her career in dentistry in a suburb of Chicago as a chair side assistant with training & certification from Loyola Dental Schooin in intraoral radiology. After many moves for academic advancement of her spouse, she found herself in Baltimore, MD. There, due to requirements for certification of dental assistants in that state, she found it beneficial to attend Medix School where she graduated at the top of her class and a member of the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society.
At completion of the Medix program and the national certification boards she was fortunate to become an employee in a dental practice specializing in treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, functional orthodontics, and full mouth reconstruction. It was during her 15 years there that she completed her certification as a TMJ Assistant under the auspices of the American Academy of Head, Neck, & Facial Pain. Also completed was certification in extraoral radiography, including axial tomography.
Prior to relocating to Kansas, she was working on her advanced level TMJ certification. In Topeka, Bobbi sought to return to chair side assisting in a general practice, working for six years in a local practice before finding just the right fit with Dr. Audrey Taylor and her dental team.
Bobbi is a longtime member of the National Association of Dental Assistants and has always felt that her profession allows her to interact in significant ways with patients. She has participated in Kansas Mission of Mercy programs delivering dental care at no cost to those without access. The professional relationship with the staff and patients of Dr. Taylor has been very rewarding. She is active in her religious fellowship both in leadership roles and teaching religious education. Hobbies include: crafts, fiber arts, jewelry, and reading. She is married and the mother of seven children, the youngest just completing high school. The return to Kansas has made possible a reconnecting with her Kansas roots, as well as with her five brothers and sisters and extended family.
Kim Johnson, Office Manager
Kim Johnson has been the Office Manager for our dental practice since February, 2007. She was new to the dental industry when she came to work for us. Prior to the dental industry, Kim spent several years in various positions helping her husband and his family run a Chrysler dealership in Iowa. Her formal training came from many years with General Electric Credit which took her from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Houston, Texas. She took several years off from her professional career and raised two boys,
Kim has been married for 18 years and in her spare time likes to help out at her church and at the boys’ school. On weekends she likes to do yard work and tends to her garden. She was awarded the “Master Gardener” designation in 2007.
Michelle Hulsether, Dental Assistant
Michelle began her training in dentistry when she attended Washburn University’s Dental Assistant Training Institute. She completed her studies and internship at D.A.T.I. with an award for out standing achievements and graduated top in her class in 1990. She began working for a General Dentist in 1990, learning all the aspects of the dental office over the 13 years she worked there. In 2004 with a desire to further her knowledge in the dental field, she went to work for a crown and bridge dental lab in Lawrence Kansas. After 3 years as a Lab Technician she found herself once again in a dental office working for Dr. Audrey Taylor, whom she feels honored to work for. She is a mother of 3 children and enjoys her time with them when she is away from work.

Shannon Pickle , RDH
Shannon is fairly new to Topeka, Ks. She graduated from Wichita State Univerisity in 2008 with a degree in Dental Hygiene.Shannon is also certified to provide nitrous oxide sedation as well as administer local anesthesia.During her free time, Shannon enjoys watching KU basketball, attending concerts and going to Wichita, Ks to visit family and friends.
